Here are some helpful links for those who have graduated or will soon do so.
http://www.urbaninterns.com/ I have gotten so many reports about this next link; the downside is you have to already have your college degree. But this site has gotten one of my friends 30 contacts in the past year. That may not sound like a lot, but they contacted her… not the other way around. Yes, most of the employers who use this site are looking for cheap or free help; but you can get experience and, if you are good enough, first chance at the next job opening.
http://www.simplyhired.com/ This is one of the most amazing job search sites around. It not only gathers information from the web, but it scours newspapers (yes, some do still exist), corporate sites and more. It is also a great tool to see what jobs are hot right now.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU CAN MAKE?
Answer: Believing that you are buying an experience. But this is the one thing that colleges advocate because it is the one thing that they have that they can sell you. And they need to “sell” you something. Forget the fraternities. Forget the football team. Forget the basketball team. Forget the social life and much of the so-called “education” you’ll never receive. It’s all crap! Take it from a professor.
Forget the experience and focus on one thing only-success in starting a career. And you will never do that if you have not selected your college path wisely.
